Clinton B. Atwater is the author of A Night by the Fire and an award-winning storyteller, speaker, and community builder whose singular mission is connecting stories and people. Raised on family tales around a campfire in northern Michigan, he carries the love of oral storytelling into adulthood, building a second career as a semi-professional storyteller alongside his work in pharmacy administration.
Clinton is the founder of Storytelling Connections and producer of Let Me Tell Ya!, a storytelling community that connects tellers with audiences through workshops, story swaps, and live events throughout Virginia. Through The Living Story workshop series, he helps everyday people uncover, shape, and share their own personal narratives.
A Distinguished Toastmaster with more than thirty years of leadership experience — including a Master of Science in Administration with a focus on Leadership — Clinton has performed in schools, libraries, and at festivals. He has served on the Virginia Storytelling Alliance (VASA) Board of Directors since 2020. In 2025, he received the ORACLE Award from the National Storytelling Network for his service and leadership to the Mid-Atlantic storytelling community.
Clinton lives in Virginia, where the campfire he learned to love in Michigan still burns — now surrounded by the community he's built to keep the tradition alive.
